The Lakers claimed a narrow, 47-42 victory over the Irish girls basketball team, Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Maple Lake High School.

The Irish led early in this second outing of the season over non-conference foe Howard Lake-Waverly Winsted. Maple Lake was able to apply some full court pressure and force the Lakers into turnovers leading to a 11-0 lead for the home team to start the game.

Playing a tough zone defense in both the full court and half court, the Irish was able to secure a 10-point lead (20-10) midway through the half.

Foul trouble for two Irish starters, combined with turnovers stopped the Irish attack and the Lakers cut the Irish lead to 22-21 going into the break.
