The Annandale/Maple Lake (ANML) Lightning left its first action of the season in Foley with some “definite bright spots,” but also an understanding of the things the team needs to work on moving forward, according to Lightning Head Coach Ben Youngs. It resulted in a 1-1 finish, including a 52-33 victory over Big Lake and a 39-27 loss to the host team Foley on December 5.
After recording a 27-5 season last year, the Lightning have high hopes this season and the wrestlers left disappointed with their results against Foley.
“However, it’s early in the season,” Coach Youngs said, “and once the Lightning wrestlers are able to moderate their weights and get into the swing of the season, the coaches are confident that they will meet their goals this year.”
