Roland W. Wurm, age 79, of Maple Lake, died Sunday, December 31, 2000 at the Buffalo Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Rev. Michael McGlauchlin officiating. The pallbearers were grandsons, Joseph Hannon, Dale Morin, Daniel Wurm, David Loegering, Brian Mooney, Eric Wurm, Mitchell Wurm, and Cole Purcell. The organist was Krista Elsenpeter and the soloist was Janet Binsfeld. Burial followed in St. Timothy’s Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There was a prayer service at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral chapel in Maple Lake.
Roland W. Wurm was born August 3, 1921 to Anthony and Annie (Paumen) Wurm in Maple Lake where he lived his lifetime until becoming a resident of Parkview Care Center, Buffalo, 3 years ago. He married Marie Knute on June 5, 1943, in Maple Lake. He farmed in Corinna Township, Wright County, and worked for Corinna Township mainly in road maintenance for 27 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Church and a former member of Father O’Brien’s Council Knights of Columbus #3613.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of Monticello, 10 children and their spouses, Dorothy & Glenn Johnson of Buffalo, Loretta & Tom Morin of Buffalo, Kenneth & Betty of Maple Lake, Arnita & Charles Loegering of North Oaks, Eileen & Pat Mooney of Clear Lake, Charles & Connie of Morris, Janet & Dan Binsfeld of Paynesville, Paul & Evelyn of Monticello, Cindy & Mark Beckman of Annandale, Yvonne & Matt Theisen of Monticello, sister, brother, and their spouses, Mildred & Harold Dircks of Annandale, Robert & Mary of Maple Lake, 31 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. His brother, Ralph preceded him in death.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
