On Friday, May 4, A local group of volunteers organized the 25th annual Steak Fry at Camp Friendship and raised $24,500 for the nonprofit True Friends. This amount breaks the record they set last year of $21,000.
The event drew more than 425 attendees and included delicious steaks cooked by the Clearwater Lions, prize drawings and a silent auction. A local Annandale Boy Scout group bussed the tables and cleared trash during the event.
“Thank you to all of the guests who attended the event, to the local businesses who donated items for the silent auction, and of course to all the volunteers, Clearwater Lions and boy scouts who made this fun and successful fundraiser possible,” organizers said.
