Moose Improve…

The Monticello-Maple Lake boys hockey team improved to 16-6-1 after two more wins last week. The Moose are currently at the top of the Mississippi 8 Conference with a record of 10-0. They also have a 13-0 section record. The Moose traveled to Litchfield on Tuesday, Feb. 4 where they defeated Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 4-1. On Friday, Feb. 7, the Moose hosted North Branch and won 7-1. Maple Lake senior Jeffrey Henrikson scored the Moose’s first goal early in the second period against Litchfield. Brooks Wilson, Gunnar Sibley and Huntley Hinz scored the Moose’s other three goals. Litchfield scored its lone goal early in the third period. Gavin Brooks scored two goals in the Moose win. Also scoring for the Monticello-Maple Lake team were Brian Cornelius, Riley Ronayne, Wilson Dahlheimer, Alex Opatz and Chase Bocken. North Branch scored its lone goal early in the first period. The Moose were scheduled to compete again on Tuesday, Feb. 11 against Princeton. On Saturday, Feb. 15, they go to Buffalo for a 3 p.m. game.
