The much anticipated Gear-Head Get Together set for Saturday, August 15, has been cancelled, officials announced late last week.
The annual “car show and much, much more” has drawn thousands of people to town every summer for the last nine years. This year was to be it’s 10th anniversary and perhaps the biggest event yet, but since Governor Tim Walz has not lifted group gathering restrictions to more than 250 people, organizers felt they had no choice but to call it off.
“We have held on as long as we could with the hope that we could still hold our event this year,” Organizer Scott Chantland said, adding that the decision did not come easily.
