Maple Lake has back-to-school plan

By Brenda Erdahl

Officials at Maple Lake schools have said their goal is to have as many students as possible do in-person learning each day and with that in mind will present a plan to the school board August 10 based on direction received from Governor Tim Walz.

On Thursday, July 30, Gov. Walz outlined a plan to reopen schools in the fall that will require districts to use one of three models: in-person, distance learning or a hybrid. Determining the model will be based on a formula that takes into account county-wide COVID-19 case numbers as well as other factors such as districts’ ability to meet mitigation requirements.
