The Maple Lake High School Speech team broke some records on their way to sending five competitors to the State Tournament this spring.
For starters, never before in the program’s history has the team had five qualifiers. It’s true, they have a solid program, sending at least one individual to state almost every year since 2012 and even producing a state champion at one time, but to qualify on this scale is a new experience for the Irish.
