In the past, Maple Lake coaches have selected two seniors, a boy and girl, who have demonstrated commitment and talent in their respective sport to recognize as Senior Athletes of the Year. This year, coaches have decided to honor all three-sport seniors instead.
Participating in three sports while maintaining their grades in school isn’t an easy task, on top of which some students work jobs. Maple Lake has 10 seniors coaches recognized this year as three sport athletes. Some have been three-sport athletes their entire high school careers.
Over the next few weeks, the Messenger will feature these athletes on its sports page. This week’s edition starts with senior athletes Abigail Althoff, Joe Fynboh and Dani Geyen.
