As COVID-19 cases continue to climb, hospitals in the region are becoming very stressed according to Wright County Public Health.
Public Health Director Sarah Grosshuesch and Dr. George Morris from CentraCare attended the Tuesday, Oct. 5 Wright County Board meeting to make sure commissioners were aware of the situation and give them some perspective on what hospitals are facing.
According to Grosshuesch, Wright County continues to outpace its neighbors in the metro as far as case rates.
“We are generally in the top 20 counties for positivity, and while some of our partners like Stearns have been a little faster, we are experiencing some exponential growth in our case rate just three or four weeks after the start of school.
She said that includes more than a doubling of the number of cases in people under the age of 18.
