
Colton J. Christopherson, age 21, of Maple Lake and Minneapolis, died suddenly on November 21, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Maple Lake with Pastor Culynn Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, at the church. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Maple Lake High School scholarships.
Colton James Christopherson was born at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota on February 9, 2000 the son of Scott Christopherson and Mary Mayer. He lived the first 5 years of life in Coon Rapids, prior to moving to Maple Lake. He graduated from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 2018. He then attended St. Cloud State University for a short time before transferring to Ridgewater College in Hutchinson to earn an AAS degree in Non-destructive Testing (NDT). He was employed by Airgas USA in Ramsey as an Ultrasonic Testing Technician.
As a young boy, Colton enjoyed Cub Scouts … and cars. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including snowmobiling, four wheeling, fishing, hunting … and cars. He had a passion for gaming … and cars. He battled with anxiety, depression and sleep deprivation that eventually led to his death as a result of suicide. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and the joy of making others laugh. He will be missed by those who loved him more than words can express.
He is survived by his parents, Mary Mayer of Minneapolis and Scott Christopherson (Jennifer Shaw) of Maple Lake; aunts and uncles, Katie Peterson (Bill Knotz), Margie (Bill) Gibson, Joe (Debbie) Mayer, Bob Mayer, Ruth Koran, Jim Mayer, Dan Mayer, Dale (Trisha) Christopherson, Sandra Bishop, Lynne (John) Fischl, Laura (Bill) Spartz, Angie (Mike) Yoeger, and Sharon (Brian) Crawford; cousins, Erik, Sara, Joey, Marissa, Joe, Andrew, Evan, Jason, Merlyn, Lia, Jessica, Justin, John, Christopher, Mark, Autumn, Amber, Brian, James, Daniel, Ben, Melissa, McKenzie and Luke; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Ann Mayer and Arnie and Carole Christopherson; and cousins, Krista, Nikki, and Jessica Mayer.
