This year’s cold spring hasn’t been kind to Irish sports. Last week nearly every game/meet scheduled was cancelled or postponed due to the weather. Even though we are nearing the end of April, some teams have only competed once.
The Irish track teams are fortunate to have had few meets under their belts thanks to an early start in March. Their most recent meet was held on Monday, April 11 in Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. The Irish junior high team was supposed to compete twice since then, but the weather didn’t cooperate. The outlook is a little better this week (temperature wise, although there is rain in the forecast) and the Irish hope to get in their home meet on Thursday, April 21. Multiple schools will be coming to the junior varsity and varsity event.
