The annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, hosted by the Annandale-Maple Lake High School Wrestling Team was a huge success once again. The event drew 103 runners plus approximately 50 wrestlers early Thursday morning, Nov. 23.
Nick Lind of Maple Lake was the overall winner in a time of 17:40. His finish also made him the winner of the 39 and below male category.
Justin Wirth of Annandale won the 40 and above male category by running the 5K in 17:41; Olivia Minear of Annandale won the 39 and below female category in 20:49 and Heather Wirth of Annandale won the 40 and above female category in 20:39.
Top finishers in each of those categories went home with a turkey courtesy of Coborns in Clearwater.
The winning wrestler from three categories received an engraved water bottle from Custom Brandz Engraving courtesy of Brett Austin. Winner of the female category was Lauren Anglin; Tavin Long won the Boys 7-9 category and Logan Anglin won the Boys 10-12 category.
The Turkey Trot has taken place every year in Annandale on Thanksgiving morning since 2009.
