A 59-year-old Annandale woman is dead after crashing her car into a ditch in Southside Township, Thursday, June 20.
According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, at 2:46 p.m. on Thursday, a call came into to the Wright County Communications Center reporting a vehicle stopped in a cornfield roughly 20 yards south of 90th Street NW just east of Nevens Avenue NW in Southside Township.
Responding deputies located the vehicle, a 2023 Kia Seltos, and found it to have heavy crash-related damage. There was one adult female located in the vehicle who was deceased.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was eastbound on 90th Street NW when it drove off the roadway and into the south ditch. The vehicle struck a road sign, a road approach, and may have rolled over before coming to rest in the cornfield.
The lone occupant was identified as Julie Hahn, age 59, from Annandale.
Officials said it did not appear that Hahn was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash is still under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
