The Lakers played two games at home last week to end the regular season. Now it’s on to the playoffs.
On Friday, July 26, the Lakers slipped by Champlin in a high scoring 15-10 win; it was also Ice Cream Night at Laker Stadium. On Sunday, July 28, the Lakers lost 7-4 to St. Michael on the Lakers’ home field.
The Lakers finished the North Star League regular season the week before in fifth place overall. They will face the No. 4 seed Loretto on Friday, August 2 in Dassel at 7:30 p.m. in the double elimination Region 12C Tournament.
Buffalo, Delano, and Hutchinson all finished at 13-3 in the North Star League but were ranked in that order due to tiebreakers. Loretto was fourth, Litchfield sixth, Dassel-Cokato got the seventh and final guaranteed spot while Howard Lake, Cokato, Maple Plain, Waverly, and Rockford will have a play-in tournament for the eighth and final playoff spot.
