The end is in sight for summer roadwork in Wright County.

The new roundabout at Highway 25 and County Road 83 is wrapping up and should be completed by mid-October, Highway Engineer Chad Hausmann told Wright County commissioners at their Sept. 10 meeting.

Originally, officials estimated work would be completed by late September, but challenges with a city water main and not great weather have pushed that date back to October, Hausmann said.

The good news is storm sewers and underground work is done, the weather forecast is favorable, and he expects crews will be able to cover a lot of ground over the next couple of weeks.

Parts of Highway 25 and County Road 83 have been closed since mid-August to build the roundabout that officials said will improve overall access, safety and traffic flow at this busy intersection.
