Board approves new playground

Thirty-four years ago, co-coordinator of the Centennial Playground project Theresa Andrus predicted, “The next playground Maple Lake builds will be by our grandchildren.”

Now that time has come.

On Monday, Nov. 11 at its regular meeting, the Maple Lake School board unanimously approved dismantling the old Centennial Playground at Maple Lake Elementary School and replacing it with modern-day equipment that will cost less to maintain, be safer for the children playing on it and more inclusive for students with special needs.
