The Maple Lake boys’ basketball team is celebrating a pair of back-to-back wins last week after a long drought.
On Monday, Feb. 10 the Irish hosted St. John’s Prep and came away with an 80-73 victory. The very next day, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, the Irish traveled to the International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie and won 69-56.

The boys’ basketball program took a big step forward Monday night by winning at all three levels – C team, JV and varsity.
“It was great to get the first win of the season at home and on parent’s night,” Coach Bryan Schleif said.
The Irish scored a season high 80 points against SJP, that is also the most points any varsity Irish boys team has scored since the 2017-18 season when the Irish finished 21-5 and were conference champs.
The Irish played as a team and moved the ball well against St. John’s press. They executed offense by making the extra pass and getting the best shot.
