The Maple Lake High School softball team opened the season last week with two wins and one loss.
The Irish started with a 5-4 win on Tuesday, April 8 at Royalton followed by a 6-1 win over Holdingford on Thursday, April 10 and a 9-6 loss to Norwood-Young America on Friday, April 11.

The Irish held a five-run lead by the fourth inning but started to make errors and mental mistakes that gave the Royals a chance in the end, Coach Tim Knutsen said.
