Royals edge Irish in baseball home opener

The Maple Lake High School baseball team opened its season, Friday, April 11 at home with a narrow 4-3 loss to Royalton.

The Royals struck first in the second inning by stealing home. They added another run in the third when the Irish committed an error to take an early 2-0 lead.

Broc Elston started a rally in the fourth for the Irish when he singled on a ground ball and Landon Marsicek took advantage of a Royalton error to score. Jackson Clapp also scored on the play to tie up the game.
