Maple Lake Irish speakers advance to sections

The Maple Lake speech team will send 12 competitors to the section competition, April 12 in Annandale for a shot at state.  The 12 Irish qualified after top performances at the Section 5A South Subsection competition on Thursday April 3 at Howard Lake.

Advancing are:

Ethan Pavlenko who finished second in Extemporaneous Reading; the pair of Carter Ertel and Olivia Mueller who finished fourth in Duo Interpretation; Keeley Dircks who finished fourth in Informative Speaking; Makkal Tessman who was fourth in Great Speeches; Tristin Stoeber fourth in Discussion; Isabelle Greenen who was sixth in Informative Speaking and Rayna Bergstrom who finished sixth in Creative Expression. Also advancing as first alternates is Nathan Halloran and Ralph Krohn in Duo Interpretation and as second alternates in Duo Interpretation, Annie Dumphy and Kayleigh Turner.

Section competition begins on Saturday, April 12 at 9 a.m.
