Larson Melgaard is a man of many talents.
Last spring he proved his competency on the golf course when he qualified for the high school league’s State Golf Tournament. This winter, he learned he is also a talented welder.
On February 14th, the Maple Lake High School senior earned first place in Shielded Metal Arc welding at the Skills Fest competition at Ridgewater College in Willmar.
“I felt pretty confident,” Melgaard said, though he had only six months of training under his belt.
