The winter-like weather is making a slow start for spring sports.
The Maple Lake High School baseball and softball teams were supposed to kick off their seasons last week, but a snowstorm rolled in to cancel those plans. Only the Irish track and field team has had the opportunity to compete so far. The Irish sent partial squads to two indoor meets starting in March. Their Rockford meet on Friday, April 4, was the only event to survive the snowstorm. Look for those results in next week’s paper.
