14U Stampede takes Fall Ball State Championship

The last weekend in September, the Central Minnesota Athletics Stampede, a 14U Girls fast pitch softball team based out of Maple Lake which is a combined team made up of skilled players from Maple Lake, Annandale, Eden Valley, Dassel-Cokato, Richmond and Delano, earned a Fall Ball State Championship in the 14U level and third place in a competitive fundraiser tournament.

To start the weekend off on Saturday, Sept. 28 the team participated in a competitive one-day softball tournament called “Pink Out” which is a Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser that was held in Coon Rapids where the Stampede were able to take home third place.

The Stampede faced some competitive club fast pitch teams from various cities in Minnesota and Wisconsin all day and having a great time playing at a high level of fast pitch softball all to support awareness for breast cancer. The Stampede had a successful day with an out of the park home run, countless strikeouts by strong stampede pitchers, nail biting hot box outs and other tough defense and offensive plays.
