Maple Lake’s Carter Courtright swept the throws to lead the Irish boys track and field team to a fifth-place finish at a Maple Lake invitational Thursday, April 17.
Courtright claimed the top spot in both the shot put and the discus out of a field of 30 plus athletes. He threw the shot 48 feet, 1.5 inches and the discus 138 feet, 3 inches for first place.
The Irish also did particularly well in the high jump where Joe Aasen, Hunter Peterson and George Riviere finished 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.
Many other top 10 finishes were also posted.
