
The Maple Lake gymnastics team posted four first and one third place finish in last week’s loss to Rush City-Pine City- Hinckley-Finnlayson.
Gracie Elsenpeter helped garner the team’s final 128.95 score with firsts on the vault (9.4), the bars (8.85), the floor (9.325), and the all-around (35.275). R-P-H-F tallied 131.425 points.
Other top finishers for the Irish were Olivia LaTour who scored an 8.4 on the vault for third place, and Shauni Johnson who scored a 7.925 for fourth place on the beam. Johnson also finished fifth in the all-around with a 31.7 cumulative score. Contributing to that score was her 7.9 on the vault which earned her ninth place; her 7.425 on the bars that earned her sixth place, and her 8.45 on the floor that earned her sixth place.
LaTour was sixth in the allaround with a 31.025. Besides her third-place finish on the vault, LaTour was seventh on the bars with a 7.275, ninth on the beam with a 7.15, and seventh on the floor with an 8.2.
Brooke Mergen finished the day with eighth place finishes on the floor (8.175), the beam (7.225), and the bars (7). She was also 10th on the vault with a 7.85, and eighth in the allaround with a 30.25.
Susie Rieber had a good showing with her fifth place finish on the bars with a score of 7.5; Elsenpeter was fifth on the beam with a 7.7, and Eva Mc- Clelland was eighth on the vault with an 8.05.
Rieber was also 10th on the beam with a 6.875, and McClelland was 10th on the floor with a 7.3.
