Lions stay active during pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on more than just local businesses. Non-profits like the Maple Lake Lions Club have taken a hit as well and are trying to make up for it the best way that they can.

On Saturday, July 25, the club set up its hamburger stand in the parking lot of The Butchery of Maple Lake. Lion’s hamburgers are usually reserved for events like the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and The Gear-Head Get Together, but both were cancelled this year. The organization sold burgers, brats and hotdogs and brought in some fundraising income.
