Football, volleyball get the go-ahead to play this fall for the 2020 season

As of Monday, the Minnesota State High School League has officially granted schools a fall football and volleyball season. Here in Maple Lake, it’s the only option that makes sense in Head Football Coach Tim Knudsen’s opinion.

“Football is not meant to be played in the spring in Minnesota,” he said.

Originally, the MSHSL said football and volleyball seasons would be pushed back to March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision generated a fair amount of criticism from parents and players, especially seniors who were counting on one final season under the lights.
