Irish football players honored

Maple Lake football players received honors recently for a job well done in the 2021 season.

Earning an Individual All-Academic nomination was Zane Jude with a 3.9 GPA; earning an All-Star Game nomination was Braden Peterson; earning All-District honors was Jacob Weese; earning All-District Honorable Mention was Nathan Paumen. This year’s All-Academic players (earning a 3.7 GPA or better) were Zane Jude, Logan Salmela and Larson Melgaard. Andreas Chrsitensen was All-Section; Braden Peterson and Nathan Paumen were All-Section Honorable Mention. The following team awards were voted on by the players: Offensive MVP – Andreas Chrsitensen; Defensive MVP – Braden Peterson; Special Teams MVP – Matteo Mangili; Irish Pride Award – Nathan Paumen, Victor Swanson; Offensive Scout Player of the Year – Porter Pribyl; Defensive Scout Player of the Year – Carter Courtright; Lineman of the Year – Jacob Weese and Hardest Worker – Nathan Paumen.
