Maple Lake Irish run to sixth place finishes

The Irish cross country team traveled to Annandale’s Whispering Pines Golf Course on Tuesday, Sept. 12 where both the girls and boys teams finished sixth.

Eight grader Lauren Anglin posted the fastest time for the Maple Lake girls team. She ran the 5K in 23:37 for 17th place overall.

Other Irish finishers for the girls were Jackie Pribyl in 20th place with a time of 23:44; Carmyn Anderson in 23rd place with a time of 24:27; Khloe Uecker in 24th place with a time of 24:39; Abby Gindele in 30th place with a time of 25:41; Peyton Walberg in 32nd place with a time of 25:45 and Violet Tulenchik in 34th place with a time of 26:29.

Annandale won its home meet with the low score of 18 points, placing five runners in the top 10. The meet winner was Madison LeSage of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted with a time of 19:32.

Senior Nick Lind posted the fastest time for the Maple Lake boys team. He ran the 5K in 17:52 for sixth place overall.

Other Irish finishers for the boys were Logan Anglin in 27th place with a time of 20:42; Hayden Dircks in 33rd place with a time of 21:12; Ben Ogram in 38th place with a time of 22:08; Blake Stoeber in 39th place with a time of 22:10; Tristan Stoeber in 48th place with a time of 24:58 and Elija Dorse in 49th place with a time of 24:59.

Annandale won with the low score of 46 led by overall winner Sal Wirth in a time of 16:01.

On Monday, Sept. 18, the Irish traveled to Pierz. Results were not available at press time.
