The Irish track and field team got in another early season meet on Tuesday, March 27th at the Monticello Indoor Quad. This annual event is usually held indoors, but because the weather was so accommodating, this year it was held outside.
Highlights for the Irish was Stacy Scherber’s winning shot-put throw of 32 feet, 7 inches. Scherber returns this year after an injury kept her out of competition last season. Scherber and her teammate Violet Tulenchik also had positive showings in the discus where they threw over 70 feet; “very encouraging,” Irish Head Coach Ben Youngs said.
